Junior Electronics Assembly Technician
The Role
Due to the continued success of the business, we are looking for an enthusiastic and talented junior electronics technician to join our expanding engineering team on a permanent basis.
It is expected that the successful candidate will be a highly self-motivated individual with a keen eye for detail. The candidate must be a quick learner who is able to work independently and rapidly adapt to the task in hand. You will be responsible for the assembly and test of electronic sensor components and products using a variety of tools and equipment, ensuring that they meet the relevant quality standards.
You will be involved in manufacturing new sensor technologies and ensuring that prototype sensor designs transition from a customer’s R&D project into a controlled production environment. This involves working closely with the application engineering team to produce a prototype sensor design and benchmark its performance. Many of our end customers are involved in motorsport, military, or specialist industries so a general interest in vehicles and aerospace is highly advantageous.

Minimum Experience:
Entry Level (Experience beneficial but not essential. Training will be given)
Minimum Qualifications:
GCSE’s in Maths, Science and English (Grades C/5 and above)
Salary:
23,000-25,000 per annum (DoE)

Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and test of electro-mechanical assemblies
- Manufacture and test of sensor wiring assemblies
- Build, test, and calibration of prototype / production sensors
- Operation and use of our factory calibration equipment
- Basic circuit testing
- Assisting the engineering team with transitioning prototype sensors into volume production (generation of drawings/build instructions and hands on training of production technicians)
- Provide technical support to existing and future customers
- Work closely with other members of the engineering team to improve existing and future products and processes (hardware, software, mechanical, production engineering)
- Provide feedback to the design/application engineers on issues identified during prototype builds. Suggest updates to assist with continuous improvement
A typical working week would include:
- Soldering
- Wiring
- Potting (encapsulation)
- Electronics testing
- Sensor configuration using PC softwares
- Sensor calibration using PC software and electrical test equipment
- Precision mechanical assembly
- Use of precision hand tools

- Strong attention to detail
- Fluent English speaker with excellent communication skills
- Eagerness to learn new skills and expand your knowledge base
- Possess a good understanding of elementary science/physics/maths principals
- Passionate about technology and excited by the prospect of playing an important role in new sensor developments
- Basic interest/knowledge of sensors and meteorology
- Experience of basic Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Team player and ability to work collaboratively across the organisation
- Some experience in the soldering of electronics
- Motorsport interest / experience
