Description

Rail Locomotive Oil Level Sensor (ID-110)

The Rail Locomotive Oil Level Sensor provides train and rail Fleet Operator’s greater insight into oil level usage and real-time fluid levels. This enables maintenance to be scheduled in advance and helps prevent disruption to essential rail services.

Engineered as an alternative fluid level sensor to mechanical-based offerings that suffer from wear degradation, Reventec capacitive measurement technology is superior in harsh environments due to its solid-state properties. Manufactured from stainless steel, the device is shock and vibration tolerant to ensure continuous monitoring of vital components. The instrument is suitable for 2 bar differential tank pressure applications and is built to last.

Featuring a standard operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C (-40°F to +257°F) with an extended +150°C (302°F) high temperature variant available. The device has no measurement deadband and with ±1% of full scale accuracy in calibrated liquid, the sensor delivers dependable data.

The Oil Level Sensor is secured with a 2-bolt mounting configuration and the rod is manufactured to the customer’s specified length for easy installation. Integrated electronics are sealed within the sensor head and allows for analog and/or CAN output without the need for external CPU processing.

Liquid Compatibility and Sensor Calibration

Reventec Capacitive Liquid Level Sensors are compatible with all common liquid types, including fuel, oil, diesel and biofuels, coolant, oil and water. As standard, our sensors are factory-calibrated in the customer-specified liquid type for immediate use. For instances when the liquid type being measured changes, customers can calibrate sensors in the field with the aid of Reventec’s free calibration software, available on request.

Options include:

  • CAN and Analog (0-5V) output options available.
  • A variety of connector options or flying lead available.
  • Custom mounting configuration to suit your spatial constraints

Reventec Capacitive Liquid Level Sensors

The Rail Oil Level Sensor is a product from our series of Capacitive Liquid Level Sensors. Our range harnesses capacitive technology for class-leading accurate measurement from a solid-state device. This method allows the sensor to be mounted at any angle without disruption or corruption of data. Reventec has vast expertise in one-off or low quantity customised devices and is equipped to engineer bespoke sensing instruments.

Applications:

The robust Rail Locomotive Oil Level Sensor has been specifically designed to perform precisely and reliably in the high-vibration environments experienced in the Rail industry. This product is well-suited for similar industries that also require a stainless steel, hard-wearing level sensor of oil, fuel, coolant or water, including Off-Highway Vehicles, Industrial and Defence applications.
