LSM-MICRO

Designed as an ultra-lightweight liquid level sensor for UAS platforms that demand class-leading accuracy packaged in a small size, the LSM-MICRO delivers dependable readings in the toughest environments. For on-board system monitoring, the sensor measures continuously with a 100Hz measurement rate enabling UAV operators to track fluid level in detail.

The LSM-MICRO is a military-grade sensor, leveraging the latest advancements in capacitive sensing technology to achieve consistent accuracies of ±0.5% of reading. Constructed from hard anodised aluminium, the robust micro liquid level sensor is well-suited for UAV platforms and military ground-based vehicles with size and space constraints and is proven in established UAV and airframe platforms. As a solid-state technology, the sensor is insensitive to orientation allowing for sensor fitment to fuel tanks at any angle, including inverted, for easy installation and access whilst maintaining high measurement accuracy.

Resistant to shock and tolerant to extreme temperatures, the LSM-MICRO has a high operating temperature of -55°C to +150°C as standard. All liquid level sensors in our LSM range specifically design for defence platforms have 2 bar differential tank pressure ratings with up to 10 bar pressure ratings available upon request. Continuous, high accuracy measurement of fuel level enables serious range extension for UAV manufacturers, allowing operators to fly further and for longer.

Suitable for a spring clip mounting configuration and fitted with a D-Sub mil-spec connector for a secure fit within a small footprint, the LSM-MICRO is available in custom sizes up to 300mm to fit within specific fuel, oil or coolant tanks. The micro liquid level sensor has integrated electronics packaged within the sensor head allowing for analog 0-5V, CAN or analog and CAN outputs without the need for external CPU processing. This technology is certified to MIL STD 461G and RCTA DO160F.

The LSM-MICRO can be adapted and customised to fit a range of connector types dependent on requirement including MIL-DTL-38999 connectors.
