The Reventec Mil-Spec Transmission Oil Level Sensor (LSM400-CUSTOM) utilises proven capacitive level measurement technology to continuously measure contained fluids to a high accuracy. With robust stainless steel construction and a 4-bolt mounting configuration, the device is ideal for measurement onboard ground vehicle platforms and valuable for efficient operations in challenging military environments.

As a solid-state instrument, the LSM400-CUSTOM benefits from not having physical moving parts that may suffer from mechanical wear. This reduces the risk of mechanical failure and minimizes maintenance demands to enhance the overall reliability and longevity of the sensors. The integrated electronics are housed within the sensor head allowing for an extremely small footprint without the need for external CPU processing. Both the probe and electronics have a high operating temperature of -40°C to +125°C, with -55°C to +150°C temperature variants available. Certification to MIL STD 461F and RCTA DO160F available.

Through continuously monitoring vital vehicle fluid vehicles, the LSM400-CUSTOM prevents situations which could impact vehicle performance or compromise mission objectives. Early detection of leaks or other discrepancies within defence vehicles can improve passengers safety in combat zones by enabling preventative maintenance in advance of an issue developing.

Reventec capacitive liquid level sensors’ measurement accuracy is unaffected by physical orientation allowing for convenient placement within fuel and oil tanks. All capacitive liquid level sensors in our LSM range have 2 bar differential tank pressure ratings, with up to 10 bar pressure ratings available upon request, and are highly vibration and shock tolerant. The LSM400-CUSTOM is calibrated in the intended fluid to achieve superior accuracies of ±0.5% of reading.

EMC approvals for the LSM400-CUSTOM includes: MIL STD 461G Army Ground Limits: CS114, CS115, CS116, RE102, RS103, RS101, CE102, CS101, RTCA DO160F: Section 25 ESD Cat. A

Output Options

  • Analog 0-5V (typically calibrated 0.25V empty, 4.75V full)
  • CAN and Analog 0-5V
  • CAN only

The LSM400-CUSTOM is supplied, as standard, with a flying lead for direct integration into a vehicles wiring harness. Reventec’s capacitive technology is highly versatile which allows for all designs to be adapted to specific lengths, mounting configurations and customised to fit a range of connector types dependent on requirement, including MIL-DTL-38999 connectors.
