Dual Channel Quantum TMR Hydroplane Arc Sensor (HU-050-02)

The Dual Channel Quantum TMR Hydroplane Arc Sensor is a rugged, non-contact Tunnelling MagnetoResistive instrument engineered for a specific customer requirement that required the measurement of the hydroplane arc movement across a 22° arc sensing range.

Designed for a defence marine application where product longevity and accuracy are paramount, the Hydroplane Arc Sensor has advanced accuracies of ±0.5% of reading and a rapid update rate of 5kHz allowing devices to capture the position of the magnet target relative to the sensor in excess of 5,000 times per second. Fitted with a SubConn MCBH-12-MP 12 pin connector for simple plug and play installation, the IP69 rated arc sensor has a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C with both the sensor electronics and magnet target encased in hard anodised aluminium. The entire device is pressure rated to 5 bar.

The HU-050-02 offers dual channel output enabling engineers to utilise both a configurable 0-5V analog output and a CAN output that delivers a ratiometric output across the 22° arc measurement sensing range. An alternative sensing range can be achieved through reprogramming the device and integrated CPU’s eliminate the need for additional external processing.

This hydroplane sensor is factory calibrated for easy installation and designed to measure across a 2.5mm air gap. Tunnelling Magneto Resistive position sensing is capable of measuring across up to 40mm air gaps and through up to 20mm of non-ferrous material such as stainless steel and aluminium, depending on the magnet target.

All devices in this range are compatible with MIL-STD-461G and RTCA DO160F EMC standards.
